Mark Nelson was born in 1975 in Denison, Texas a small town north of Dallas. His interests of art, graffiti, punk rock, technology, skateboarding and pop culture lead him to "The Big City". Painting graffiti on box cars, climbing up billboards, and catching a quick tag on a phone booth when no ones looking eventually turned into more elaborate creations of art, it soon became more about the art and less about the adrenalin. His paintings still reflect the quick street art style and retain the hard outlines filled with bright colors and the highlights to make it pop, along with bubbles, the clouds, the chips, the breaks, the drips, the force field outlines and all the other goodies that make it what it is. Although, his art is not all surface value. It is also a deeper examination of iconic pop symbolism, beyond the socials groups that exploit them.

His more complex pieces use these social symbols as props in a larger story to reveal conflicts that are found not only inside the mind but also all around us. His paintings have been shown at many galleries across the nation including Avenue Arts, Kettle, Art Bar, Empire, Zuppe, Phuture, Plush, Art House, Art Prostitute, Stray Show and more.
